FAT BY THE GALLON – ‘Jackasses On Pleasure Island’ EP Review

FAT BY THE GALLON – Jackasses On Pleasure Island

Fat By The GallonDallas, Texas based Fat By The Gallon have released a new record titled Jackasses On Pleasure Island.

The opening track, Calm Down is a raucous track with excellent vocal interactions and a pounding beat. With melodies a-plenty and some serious technical tightness, these folks rock!

1204 opens with a Stiff Little Fingers like guitar and develops into a pop-punk-melodic-punk track with some great guitar presence whereas Explode ups the pace and the display of the tightness across the band. The runaway train vibe provides a version of controlled chaos and this track is a splendid example of power, pace, control and melody and, boy oh boy, the hooks just keep on coming.

The closing track, Hated Me, is another ‘in-you-face’ punk rocker with pop sensibilities and some excellent riffs.

This is one excellent EP and you can grab a copy of Jackasses On Pleasure Island by Fat By The Gallon here:
