FIGURE IT OUT – ‘Silence Isn’t Golden’ EP Review

FIGURE IT OUT – Silence Isn’t Golden

Figure It OutArizona-based quartet, Figure It Out, have emerged with a new EP. Silence Isn’t Golden will arrive on September 1st and will be their first release since the sophomore EP Nothing To Lose. For fans of New Found Glory, Sum 41 and NoFx, these boys rock!

Silence Isn’t Golden picks up where the last EP leaves off with the melodic and powerful, Second Best with melodic vocals, huge guitar hooks and a catchy chorus, it is a very good song!

Lullaby, is slower in approach but those soaring vocals sit well on top of some wall of sound guitar, bass and drums and the clever interlude towards the end of the song sets up a strong ending.

With a skate-punk/”Fat” approach the title track of the 4 song EP Silence Isn’t Golden is a cracking effort. From the opening chords to the brilliant drumming, I was imagining a circle pit on monstrous proportions as Figure It Out belt this one out live…some monster hooks to boot.

The EP closes with Sleep Without You where a plaintive vocal and soft guitar notes lead to an acoustic guitar chord backing and some vocal harmonies for the chorus.  The track motors along with just guitar and vocals until the drums kick in half-way through with the bass to build into a head-banging crescendo…really liked this one!
