KOFFIN KIDS – ‘Sweet Home’ EP Review

KOFFIN KIDS – Sweet Home

Koffin KidsKoffin Kids are a punk rock band from Rotherham in the north of England and they released their new EP Sweet Home, along with a music video on January the 5th.

The blistering three-track effort opens with Itchy Tasty where a lone power chord introduces a pile driving beat that supports a brilliant and melodic punk rock track that we simply adored. With hints of The Blitz and The Damned combining, it leads for some exciting rocking and rolling music…Wow!!!

Next up is Red Rust and the guitar lick comes to the fore with support from a more complicated math-punk beat and interchangeable vocal treatments producing an intriguing and accomplished power package.

This EP closes with …With A K and, somehow, Koffin Kids manage to coax some more speed and power out of their instruments with a skate-punk feel, helter-skelter licks, runaway riffs and some of the paciest drumming you’ll hear this year – great stuff.

If you’re looking for a hook laden, powerful package to blow away the January cobwebs, this one is a must.
