LAFLAMME – ‘Broken Hearted Sons’ Review

laflammeLaFlamme are donating all proceeds of this EP to Muscular Dystrophy UK which is a damn good cause and something all Punks can support and get behind.

The first track is the eponymous Broken Hearted Sons featuring a Sisters of Mercy like guitar riff and dark, deep vocals. The band cites influences such as The Ramones and ‘70s Punk but this song has a very 1980’s ambiance and is all the better for it.

The second track, Breaking In, opens with some AC/DC guitar before launching into a melodic punk tune that Husker Du would be proud of. The band is based out of Surrey, England (more stockbroker belt than Attila the Stockbroker) and is gaining a strong live reputation. I loved this song!

The Husker Du/Bob Mould vibe extends into the intro of Liar before the song morphs into raucous punk song with terrace-chant choruses bracketing softer verses. It’s sure to be a live favorite and this band is destined for big things – you heard it here first!

The EP will be available to purchase from the 15th April 2016, It will be on Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, GooglePlay, Shazam, 7Digital through Goloud records. Get it because and get for a good cause.

Laflamme formed in 2013 amongst the floods and storms to create a unique original sound of rock infused punk, huge riffs, screaming guitar solos and widely understood lyrics from lyrical wizard Richie lambert. Having headlined a stage at the 2014 GuilFest the band quickly gained momentum being booked as support act for bands such as “the Ramona’s” an all-girl English Ramones tribute band and the “sex p****sed dolls” another all girl covers band who have now exploded onto the scene with invitations to play the isle of white festival. Not to mention playing he world famous hippodrome casino on Leicester Square.
