LASERCHRIST – ‘D.I.Y.-Bother?’ EP Review

LASERCHRIST – D.I.Y.-Bother?

LaserchristLaserchrist are a new band from London, U.K. Their first EP, DIY-Bother? is out now on Bandcamp, Spotify and iTunes. The five track EP opens with Oh, Ethyl! and I was transported back to the early 1990s and the first Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr. and Tad releases with that grungy, slacker, catchy and powerful sound.

What’s The Use? maintains the fuzz guitars, gravel throated vocals and monster hooks with a signature guitar lick taking the lead. Laserchrist are very good indeed and on Big Smoke City, they allow a super guitar riff/lick to drive a mid-paced rocker forward with aplomb.

The penultimate song is the Pearl Jam like, We’ve Got Hopes where the beat ups the tempo. The closing song, Ravebird Mountain Man (Radio Silence) has a more shoegaze feel in the mold of Ride although it does pick up the pace.

All in all, an accomplished debut showing great future promise. Check out D.I.Y. – Bother by Laserchrist at this link:- https://laserchristlondon.bandcamp.com/releases
