MUMMY – ‘Mum’s The Word’ EP Review

MUMMY – Mum’s The Word

MummyThe new four-track EP from London punks, Mummy has been released and it is a four track monster. Opening with the superb, See You Empty, the band craft a unique and powerful sound that is fresh, vital and vibrant. With pounding drums and rumbling bass laying the foundation for massive guitar chords and licks, the vocals are angry yet melodic – phew!!!!

On Hey Mummy, slow things down a tad with a bluesy, pounding rocker that explodes into a massive chorus like the Pixies meeting Black Sabbath! It is an epic punk rock track that blew my mind.

The band go further into the blues with a faster paced corker of a song, Electricity which channels Royal Blood and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion to deliver a beautiful racket.

Closing with Little Lamb, we are treated to a fast paced Cramps style riff supported by pounding drums and some monster power chords, pounding bass and tempo changes. The overall package is a superb head-banging rocker of track that we adorded!
