NO SILVER BULLET – Self-Titled EP Review

NO SILVER BULLET – Self-Titled

No Silver BulletJust formed last year, The Netherlands (Utrecht) based No Silver Bullet have just released a four-track eponymously named EP.

The opening song, Margin Call reminded me a little of Minor Threat and Black Flag with chunky riffs, tight rhythm section and deep tone vocals. The track motors along at pace but the follow up, Hell Is Other People ups the speed and channels The Damned circa 1976 with Dave Vanian sounding vocals – good stuff indeed!

On Enhancement No Silver Bullet deliver a mid-paced and chunky introduction that launches into a great riff and licks with those signature vocals adding unique melody. The three-minute, thirty-second track is full of hooks to the solar plexus.

The band conclude the EP with Catatonic and it’s a raunchy, rocking and rolling track with meaty power chords and singalong chorus. The band are fresh and different with power, melody and a knack for penning a catchy punk rock tune.
