PAPER/BOY Share New Single ‘It’s All Flirting and Fun’

PaperBoy2018 has shown to be a fantastic year for newcomers to the Irish music scene Paper/Boy. Hailing from Co. Donegal and Derry City, the indie-punk group have shown to be one of the most promising young bands to come out of the Northern Irish music scene in recent times, having released their debut single “Guerilla Therapy” to a sold-out hometown show in the Nerve Centre, along with praise from fans, critics and radio throughout the UK and Ireland. Taking inspiration from and being compared to indie heavyweights like Car Seat Headrest and PUP, it’s clear to see why the band have garnered a loyal fanbase across the North, playing a headline slot at the prestigious Stendhal Festival in Limavady this year, along with shows in Derry, Belfast and Dublin.

Spending a day recording at Start Together Studios in Belfast (ASIWYFA, Girls Names, Brand New Friend), this new single is one of two releases that were created there, with the help of producer Darren Hill (Fox Colony). The song, fully titled as “It’s All Flirting And Fun (Til’ Someone Flirts And Catches Feelings)”, sees Paper/Boy keep the same fast guitar-heavy sound they had accomplished with their debut, going for a more pop-punk feel this time around with its structure and song length. Written by vocalist and guitarist Joshua McNutt, this song took various different forms before being brought to the band to make it what it is now, adjusted and fully realised with slick punk riffs from guitarist Caoilfhinn McFadden along with a steady backbeat from bassist Canavan and drummer Lochláinn Kelly. This track lets the public know that the group are still going to be making a good exciting racket for another while!

Paper/Boy’s new single “It’s All Flirting And Fun” comes out Friday August 24th via Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp.
