REACTION – DESPERATE MEASURES Split 7” Single

REACTION – DESPERATE MEASURES Split 7” Single

ReactionOut Now. Seven inches of shocking pink vinyl!

Crossing the globe is this new split single from Scotland’s Reaction and New Zealand’s Desperate Measures on Tarbeach Records of NYC.

Reaction are an original 1978 punk rock band who reformed in 2015 after 38 years.  Reaction take in elements of garage rock, punkish attitude and a wide variety of influences garnered over the last forty years of absorbing music as varied as CBGB punk, alt.country, DC hardcore and the Detroit sound of The Stooges. “Days Of El Dorado” is a song about the wild Glasgow of their formative years, mentioning long-lost watering-holes such as The Griffin, Rooftops and Hurricanes whilst being a paean to lost youth. It also rocks like fuck.

Desperate Measures are similarly a NZ original punk band relocated to London who’ve been touring hard since reinvigorating themselves a few years back. “Executive Order” is a new song that is a vitriolic attack on the modern world and its leaders and has that garage rockin’ feel essential to the blistering lyrics.

Both cuts are in advance of albums. Reaction’s second LP, “Keep It Weird, Keep It Wired” is out on Tarbeach at the end of October and Desperate Measures are currently recording their debut.

Tarbeach Records is a boutique label out of Queens, NYC.
