SISTERAY – ‘Sisteray Said’ EP Review

SISTERAY – Sisteray Said

SisterayFollowing a thrilling eighteen months in which they’ve lit up festival stages, London’s Sisteray have announced the release of a brand new EP, Sisteray Said on September 7th. The band have also announced a UK tour that includes a headline show at London’s 100 Club.

The four-tracker opens with a pounding drumbeat that sets up a Kasabian like, punch the air classic, Wannabeswith excellent lyrics dripping in irony with echoes of seventies rabble rousers, Slade…we loved it! On Rumour Mill the tribal style drums usher in a big bass and Killing Joke keyboards with a majestic vocal performance all combining to create a sound that is a little Oasis, a little Catfish, a little Idles and a little Biffy Clyro…it just works!

The third track, Algorithm Prison simply rocks and was our favourite song on the EP with some excellent lyrics, punk rock attitude, power and pace attacking the banality of the digital age with the chanted “We Ain’t Your Target Market”– a contender for line of the year!

The EP closes with the title song, Sisteray Said where the band lay down a raunchy riff on top of a booming and brilliant bass line and add a compelling chorus to simply nail the deal as they deliver one of the best Eps of the year!

The EP will be released on limited edition 12” splatter vinyl, standard vinyl, cassette, CD, and from all good digital stores through Vallance Records on September 7th 2018.

Grab your copy at all the usual outlets.
