STADT SKULLS – ‘Against The Cult Of The Reptile God’ EP

STADT SKULLS – Against The Cult Of The Reptile God

Stadt SkullsLiverpool three-piece punk band, Stadt Skulls, have recently released their first EP, Against The Cult Of The Reptile God,(they released a single in 2016) and the four tracks are packed with energy and creativity.

The opening song, Leif The Lucky is a melodic, accessible 1990s style rocker with a Dinosaur Jr/Husker Du vibe with distorted guitars dominating the atmosphere.

On Nostalgia For What the band continue to doff their cap to the early 1990s alternative/punk scene with a Lemonheads style catchy power/pop/punk play and harmonious vocals. The title track, Against The Cult Of The Reptile God opens with a booming bass line and slows down the pace as the guitars offer varying lick lines and the beat keeps your head nodding. The track builds to combine the varying approaches and hits the spot perfectly!

Closing with Ink And Spear, Stadt Skulls craft a fuzz-fest classic with some soaring guitars, faster pace and remind me a little of Weezer with the vocals combining well with the music.

This is a fun and refreshing EP.
