THE ADDISONS – Here It Comes Again

The AddisonsThe Addisons will release their EP on August 9th on Torture Chamber Records. The band is from Chicago and features ex-members of Dan Vapid and The Cheats, Smoking Popes, Noise By Numbers and more.

The EP was also produced by Mike Felumlee of the Smoking Popes and opens with a gentle guitar build up on Something Is Missing and the song develops into a churning pop-punk power ballad with a plaintive vocal full of melody. Let’s Call It Off significantly ups the tempo with driving riffs and licks and a screaming vocal producing a skate-punk/emo vibe.

The five-song EP continues with a change in direction and vocal performance on the Byrds like Down, Down, Down with jangling guitars and melodic hooks whereas Alright maintains the melodies with a mid-paced beat.

The EP concludes with Tombstoneswhere military drum rolls usher in some chunky riffs and the vocals deliver harmonies as the song develops into a pop-punk effort with a little more edge than the previous tracks.

This one is for fans of 90s influenced indie/punk music such as The Replacements and the brilliant Lemonheads.
