THE REUTERS – ‘E.P.’ Review

THE REUTERS – E.P.

The ReutersAfter the highly acclaimed album We Are From Hu, released and reviewed on this site in July this year, The Reuters are back again! Simply titled, E.P. the release contains five brand new songs based on the band’s early material from the late seventies…!

The Reuters – E.P. is released in an edition of only 200 copies on 7” marbled vinyl.
Each copy comes in a unique sleeve and was released in early November.

The Fall like Ambient Ambulance opens up the release with discordant guitar, spoken/sung vocals and even some organ in the background.

On, Down In The Sewer, The Reuters pursue a punkier approach with some neat guitar work supported more than ably by some fuzzed bass and pounding drums for just 90 seconds. The even shorter, Vitamine Sex rocks along reminding me of The Cramps.

The penultimate track Schmerzhaft slows things down a little to channel The Doors including the organ background. The rock and rolling introduction of No Friend Of Mine is a more straight up punk rock track that rocks and rolls with a rawness and energy that is prevalent throughout the EP.

This is good stuff and I would suggest getting the vinyl if you can, in the meantime, take a listen here:
